I have the honour to inform Your Lordship that, under the powers conferred on me by Your Lordship's Despatch, No. 134 of 1881, I have permitted Acting Chief Inspector Cradock, of the Police Force in this Colony, to retire on pension on account of ill health.
2. I enclose copy of Medical Certificate from the Colonial Surgeon, together with the usual Pension Papers.
I have assented to his certificate. The injuries referred to in it relate to a wound received by Mr. Cradock in 1876 while in the execution of his duty. I enclose copy of the report made at the time by the Captain Superintendent of Police on the subject dated 1st June, 1876.
3. In consideration of the fact that the Colonial Surgeon considers that the injuries received have materially impaired Mr. Cradock's capacity, I have granted him a free second-class passage to England.
